some rites of passage

time to document some days before it's 2020 and i can't remember all these things. this is old news, but the kid graduated from preschool. thanks to alphabetical privilege, she was first. those who love her were a tad worried she would have either a major or a minor freak out, but here she goes, crossing the bridge without a fit, and a sweet jump to boot. she makes us proud, and never ceases to surprise us:

how about a few bullets? that will make this attempt at communication less overwhelming.
  • aahhh, the leisurely summer days. i'm working on a photo collage of my favorite moments. there are so many of them.
  • adah survived a two week camp at the school where she'll attend kindergarten IN JUST A FEW SHORT WEEKS, even though initially she "hated it more than hating it more than hated it."
  • anne and i went through some olympian relationship struggles and came out magnificently stronger, and there was nothing left to do but get married in maui on a sailboat by a church of elvis minister we had only known for a few hours. it was perfect. also on my list of to-do's is to write a lesbian divorce prevention handbook.
  • the wifey and i also went to oakland to witness the marriage of erica and dana, and had a very food and joy-centric antiochian reunion with the besties.
  • did i mention we went to maui? i snorkeled until i thought my head might explode. we had a ridiculously fun fambly vacation-- so lastingly great that i'm not even planning the next one yet.
  • this is recent:
love seeing the tentative one take risks.
