yesterday

today was rather hellish, so let's just skip to yesterday's wonder. sound good?

it was a sunny saturday. anne was in lagrande, so it was just bug and i. she brought me breakfast in bed, which consisted of an unpeeled orange, tortilla chips, toasted seaweed, and no coffee. we decided to skip roller skating and work on some projects with a big lack of attention span. first she wanted to make flip flops out of cereal boxes, then she scavenged the basement for wrapping paper tubes to build a cardboard castle, and eventually we ended up making a huge collage sundae. we spent the rest of the day outside.

it involved making wishes and spreading a lot of weeds.

it also involved long conversations with worms,

and learning how to fall in soft patches of grass.

i love a saturday when we have nothing to do except go out to lunch and hang out at the park with a  backpack full of sidewalk chalk and card games.

 a day of happy nothings.
