adah's discovery

maddy the dentist is getting the cherub ready for bed and i'm supposed to be cleaning up our delicious mess from dinner, but i just wanted to mention that our little darling has made a new discovery. last night, 2 whole months after she began sleeping in her own bed, she discovered that she could, in fact, get right up out of bed and leave her room if she wanted to. she of course thought this was hysterical, and she was laughing and gasping so hard about it that we couldn't help but crack a smile and then both burst into laughter ourselves. but not for long. we then had to lay down the line. her response to us laying down the line? more escape artistry. she continued to maniacally run back and forth down the hallway while we tried to quickly problem-solve about what our non-threatening, yet stern approach would be. fortunately for me, i had a massage appointment scheduled, and had to leave anne upstairs with the kid dizzying herself with the joy of freedom. when i got home she was asleep on the rug on her floor, finally having resigned after lots of loving rigamarole. wish us better luck tonight!
