pride!

 adah's favorite part of pride is catching candy. 

 my mom and i. she's come a long way. 

and this is the kind and goofy man my mom is going to someday marry. adah is crazy about him.  it was his first pride and he reflected later, "it was not what i expected. unlike what the news portrays,  all the lesbians didn't look like hulk hogan."
