
this past weekend, after lounging around all saturday in bathrobes with colds, we ventured out to tacoma, where liz was visiting seamus. lucky for us we've gotten to see them twice in a month and a half or so. tacoma not only has liz and seamus, but a zoo with an AQUARIUM as well. you know what that means, invisible readers...seahorses!, adah's favorite genus of fish, which she learned about from a barfy flashcard.
seahorses are not just located in coastal and reef waters, but they also very vividly exist in her imagination and are everywhere in her world--she finds them in sidewalk cracks, sprinkles them on her oatmeal, pulls them out of our ears and noses, asks for seahorse tacos for dinner. when asked what it is about seahorses that she loves so much, she says it's because they live in WA-ter, clearly the most exquisite of compounds. hence, her declaration:
